Information about me:	My name is Emily Marr. I am from Holden, MA and am a senior at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. I am captain of the tennis team and am very involved at tutoring at the Nativity School in Worcester. I have been babysitting since I was a freshman in highschool and have worked at summer camps (working with ages 5-12) also since I was a freshman in highschool. Two summer ago, I worked at a sleep away camp for the entire summer, and gained invaluable experience working and living with children. I am enthusiastic, creative, and I love being active in what the children do.
Most important aspect of the job:	The most important aspect of my job is the safety and security of the children. Ofcourse, it is important the the kids are having fun, but I also think it is important that they are content and comfortable while I am there. Also, it is important that I am very involved in what the kids are doing. When I was younger, a lot of my babysitters would sit me down in front of the television and surf the web for hours. This is what I would never do. I always want to be playing, interacting, or help
Most rewarding:	Most rewarding is the relationships that are formed between me and the children. There is nothing more special when a child looks forward to their babysitter coming over, excited to show the babysitter new things they have learned or new things they want to do.
How do you deal with common frustrations such as incessant crying, spitting out food or refusing to nap?	When common frustration arise., the key is to remain calm. I remind myself that they are little kids, so the best way to handle the situation is to use soothing words and when the child is old enough, it is very important to not just tell a child to do something but to tell the child why it is important that they should do that.

Additional Info:	I have babysat children ranging from 1 year of age to 12 years of age; through my experiences babysitting and working at camps, I feel that I have truly learned the ins and outs of working with kids. I am always positive and eager to have a fun experience with the kids I babysit for-imagination and creativity can go a long way.
