Information about me:	My name is Katlyn i am currently a sudent and a part-time employee at the Clark County Library. During the summer I held a seasonal position with Safekey which is an after school program offered by the city and I thoroughly enjoyed working with the children. Since then i changed my major into a double major to include childcare, so that I may have a future working with children. I find all children to be delightfully wicked but it makes me enjoy their presence even more. I believe in children learning to enjoy being taught. Every child is very curious saying how does this work or why does this work, that is where the teaching starts, in the home. Reading which is one of my great joys in life is great for all children it's a place where they can disappear into their own world let their imaginations go crazy, or where they can learn at their own pace by reading books about history or something that makes them curious. Most important aspect of the job:	Seeing that any and every child has fun is happy and has an appetite for learning whether they realize it or not.
Most rewarding:	meeting the children, I find that children know more than we as adults give them credit for. I find it very rewarding to help each child find that they are smart. It is a great joy to see the surprised and happy expression that all children give when they have accomplished something.
How do you deal with common frustrations such as incessant crying, spitting out food or refusing to nap?	It is not always what is happening but why it is happening, I do not believe in violence toward any children. If it is crying trying to calm them down with a song has always worked best I like to use attention getters if that still doesn't work then you continue to do something fun either by your self or with the other children, the child crying will eventually become curious or jealous and want to play also.
