Information about me:	My name is Christine, I was born in Washington DC, and was raised in Potomac, Maryland. I have been babysitting since I was 13 years old. I used to take care of several children in my family's neighborhood growing up, and I always enjoyed it. I graduated from Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in 2007, and began college at the University of Maryland. After completing a year and a half, I decided to study abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I lived in Argentina for almost 3 years, studying and teaching English to children locally. I decided to return home in 2011 with my husband in order to finish my degree and begin our new lives together. I currently am attending the University of Maryland Monday-Friday and come home on the weekends to Frederick, MD. I love children, taking care of their every need and really paying attention to their specific needs because each child is different, I believe. I am a patient, kind and hard working person.
Most important aspect of the job:	The most important aspect of my job is the amount of attention and dedication I put into it. I always try to put 100% of myself into every job.
Most rewarding:	The most rewarding thing about babysitting and being a nanny is seeing the smiles on the children's faces and when you know you have made a difference in their lives. I enjoy not simply being present during the session, but rather making it a fun and educational time for the kids.
How do you deal with common frustrations such as incessant crying, spitting out food or refusing to nap?	While caring for children, I try to be very calming and sensitive if they become upset over missing their parents, or not wanting to take a nap for example. I would never raise my voice, but rather explain to them in a nurturing manner, why they need to nap or eat, for example. If a child is incessantly crying, I would calm him/her by hugging them and trying to take their mind off the reason they are upset, such as reading a book or playing with their favorite toys.
