Information about me: I am a senior at Westfield High School. I work at AYS which is an after school care program for K-4. I love working with children and having a good time. I am very outgoing, and not a shy person. In the fall of 2009, I am going to Ivy Tech for Early
Most important aspect of the job: Making sure the kids are behaving, but also having a good time.
Most rewarding: It's most rewarding when I see the children laughing. That means, I have done a good job keeping everyone under control and they had fun with me.
How do you deal with common frustrations such as incessant crying, spitting out food or refusing to nap? In situations like these I usually, try to eat with them, or lay down with them. It depends what the problem is. Or, I like to talk to them. I am not a person to yell, or threaten.
