Our site is designed to help parents and families to find sitters
and for babysitters and nannies to find jobs in their area. The site is 100% free.
All monetary transactions are conducted directly between babysitters and parents.
We individually preview profiles to avoid misuse of the site and to keep it safe.
The search is performed based on the desired zip code and the
distance from it. In addition advanced search can be used to
look for sitters or job openings with very specific criteria,
i.e. duties performed or required, living arrangements,
language spoken, etc.
Even though the membership is 100% free, we do not take the safety and security of members lightly. It is our primary concern. That is why we do not reveal the contact information of either babysitters or parents until you are ready.
When you contact the prospect the message containing your email address and the link to your profile will be sent to that prospect. If the prospect wishes to reply they can either use your email address or contact you back through the site.
The data is stored in a facility with multi-tiered security that includes 24/7/365 video surveillance, biometric scanning and man-trap points. That assures physical security of the data.
Virus and malicious software protection for a network infrastructure is also essential. All incoming data is scanned for viruses continuously.
Our hosting center utilizes a third party to run security and vulnerability audits of the network. These audits include, but are not limited to, port scans, server configuration audits, and other security and vulnerability checks that help ensure that the network and servers are as secure as possible. These audits keep hosting safe, secure, and PCI compliant.
Our hosting is also registered as a Safe Harbor with the U.S. Department of Commerce. What this means is that our web hosting has met or exceeded certain guidelines for the adequate protection of private and confidential information as defined by the European Union’s Directive on Data Protection.
Keep in mind that it is not that easy to find the right babysitter or nanny. Once you identified the candidate, take time to know your prospective sitter, introduce them to your children. Make sure your child is comfortable with the babysitter or nanny of your choice. Remember: your interview of the babysitter is the best background check.
Parents can search for candidates and preview their profiles without registration.
Membership is required to contact qualified babysitters or to post a job opening. Again, the membership is free.
When parents no longer wish to display their profile they can deactivate it by unchecking
the "Active" option on the top of the Profile Update screen.
To become a sitter a candidate must be 18 years old or
at least 13 year old and accompanied by a parent or guardian while registering.
This is required in order to comply with COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act
of 1998).
Babyitters or nannies may either search for job openings in their area or post their profile with SittersSearch.
The more information is provided in the profile the more parents
will know about the candidate and more likely they will contact this candidate.
Uploading the picture greatly improves candidate's chance of getting the job.
Sitters would need to become members if they wish to contact families for job openings in the area.
Sitters should log in to their account frequently. When parents search for babysitters, search results are sorted
based on the sitters' last login date.
The more often sitters log in the better chance they have to be noticed by the prospective employers.
Also, sitters can manually deactivate their profile at their own discretion.
In this case, it will not be displayed when families search for sitters in their area.

You can do so by logging into your account and unchecking Profile Status checkbox.
The membership is free. All we ask our members is to be reasonable, play by the rules and not to abuse the use of our site.
Membership is unlimited and offers multiple benefits like ability to contact other members, create your own profile and automatic email notification when potential sitters, nannies or parents register near you.
Obviously, identifying a sitter is only the first step in the process.
We strongly recommend that parents and families conduct face to face
interview, check references and do a background check of the candidate
before entrusting their children to potential caregivers.
